Work and interests

Heba was a visiting PhD student from Switzerland on a scholarship from the Swiss National Science Foundation for one year under the supervision of Dr Claudia Langenberg and Dr Maik Pietzner. Her research centers around the association between thyroid disease and other metabolic disorders, namely diabetes.

Background and experience

Heba obtained a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Jordan in 2008 and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2010. She then pursued clinical work and obtained her specialization in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Diabetes in Switzerland. She began her PhD at the University of Bern in 2019.
